Description

Commemorative copper-nickle coin minted in Panama. Coin is 5 centesimos. Obverse features a 3/4 portrait of Dr. Carlos Finlay. Reverse has the seal of the Republic of Panama. This coin was issued between 1975 and 1982. Dr. Finlay discovered the cause of yellow fever; he was a practicing ophthalmologist.
