3rd edition of Moeurs Conjugales #58: Medical Science. Moeurs Conjugales was a series of 60 lithographs by Honore Daumier appearing in the newspaper Le Charivari between May 19, 1839 and October 12, 1842. Subsequently a book was published with the entire series. The series was meant to show case the many quarrels and discussions between husbands and wives. Here Daumier is playing with the concept of a husband's wandering eye. The caption reads: The Master's Eye Man:"Darling! Just look at this scoundrel who had his share of conquests! But now we have calmed down…" Woman:" Each in his turn, Mr. Picquet, each in his turn."
