Oral Histories

Phillips Thygeson

The Oral History Collection contains formal interviews, self-recorded reminiscences and informal conversations.  Our goal has always been to gather memories, experiences and insights from individuals whose lives are an inspiration. The Legacy Project

Knauer Family
Knauer Family

In 1999 the Senior Ophthalmologist Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology was inspired to find families with multiple generations of ophthalmologists and tell their stories.  Today the Legacy Project is retained in the Academy Archives.  There are two publications, one a list of 2 generation families and one a list of 3 or more generations of ophthalmologists in one family.
